The series as a whole is full of odd, recurring imagery, and you'll recognize a lot as you play through this installment. The mood is, as usual, unsettling, with a low soundtrack and general vibe of wrongness aided by the signature visual style that's full of heavy black lines and subtle noise distortion. While the gameplay tends more towards the clever than not, sometimes Cube Escape's tendency to hold your hand as little as humanly possible can come back to bite it simply because of how strangely implemented some of the puzzles are. In a few cases, it isn't apparent when you're making progress with something, and a lot of the game will simply come down to experimentation to try to uncover the dreamlike logic of it all.

Cube Escape Birthday Great horror and room escape game from Cube Escape series. In the seventh installment of the Cube Escape series you are celebrating your 9th birthday. Everything seems fine until the doorbell rings. Interact with objects by using your mouse. Select items and use them on the screen. Everybody at your party seems to be having a good time, but an ominous letter hints that not all is well. Click around to interact with things and move around the room, and click an item in your inventory to hide it for use. Some objects can be dragged around with the mouse, but the cursor won't change to tell you what you can interact with, so be sure to check everywhere and try everything. When you're carrying a lot of items, you can click the little white arrow that appears in the bottom right corner to expand and collapse your inventory. Don't expect a whole lot of help... like most of Rusty Lake's games, Cube Escape: Birthday is more than a little surreal, and you'll have to think outside the realm of everyday logic in order to proceed.
